Gajendra Singh Chauhan is a Professor of Media and Communication Studies, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, BITS, Pilani. He believes that ‘to teach is to learn twice’. His teaching addresses a broad set of topics within media studies and applied linguistics.  He opts for an interactive pedagogy that encourages student curiosity and participation while facilitating learning for both. He loves meeting young minds and gets inspired with their passion and energy at whatever they do.

He received a Master’s in English Literature, M Phil in ELT from School of Studies in English, Ujjain and a Doctorate in Advertising Communication from Devi Ahilya University, Indore. His interest in media studies helped him complete a degree programme in Journalism and Mass Communication. With over 20 years of teaching experience, he involves in project development, syllabus design, media production and research publication in national and international journals. His research interests include Applied Linguistics, Advertising Communication, Media & Culture, and Sociolinguistics. He engages training programmes and workshops on professional communication, media literacy and personality development for educators and executives across the government and private organizations. His contributions to the literature include eight books from the leading publishers like Cengage, Wiley, Rawat, and other publishers. He worked independently on a UGC MRP entitled Writing Competence: An Assessment of Tribal Students. He also delivered radio talks on All India Radio on various educational issues.

His passion to serve the nation gave him a stint in Indian Air Force where he imparted training and did counseling to young aircraftsmen. He is a sports buff and played Tennis at national level.
