Swastibrata Bhattacharyya

Assistant Professor, Gr-I

Computational Condensed Matter, Density Functional

About the Faculty:

Dr. Swastibrata Bhattacharyya completed her PhD from IISc Bangalore in 2014. In her PhD Dr. Bhattacharyya studied strain dependent tuning of electronic properties in several low dimensional materials which include two dimensional semiconducting transitional metal dichalcogenides, carbon nanotube, bilayer graphene and boron nitride nanoribbons. After PhD she joined a Post-doctoral research in Yokohama National University Japan (2014-2018), where she developed a method to do phase field simulation of alloys from first principles, without any thermodynamical parameter. She joined Department of Physics, BITS-Pilani K. K. Birla Campus in Nov, 2018 as an assistant professor.

Her broad area of research is: Theoretical and Computational  Condensed Mater Physics.
