About  the Conference:

We are delighted to announce the XIVth Annual International Conference of the Indian Academy of Biomedical Sciences (IABSCON 2026), to be held from 24th to 26th March 2026 at the Department of Biological Sciences, BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, in association with IIT Goa.

Building on the success of the previous conferences, IABSCON 2026 aims to bring together leading scientists, clinicians, academicians, researchers, and industry professionals from across the globe to exchange ideas and foster collaborations in biomedical and life sciences.

The theme for this year’s conference, “Advancements in Research and Technology for Health (ARTH 2026),” emphasizes the integration of cutting-edge technologies and innovative research approaches to address current challenges in health and disease. The conference will provide a vibrant platform for discussions on emerging trends, translational research, and technological innovations that are transforming healthcare.

About the Indian Academy of Biomedical Sciences (IABS)

The Indian Academy of Biomedical Sciences (IABS) is a registered scientific society established in 2012 under the Societies Registration Act (1860) to promote excellence and innovation in biomedical and translational research. Conceived by Prof. Hari S. Sharma and founded together with Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi, the Academy serves as a platform for scientists, academicians, and clinicians to exchange knowledge and foster collaborations in biomedical sciences. Through its annual conferences, workshops, and academic initiatives, IABS continues to advance research, nurture young investigators, and bridge the gap between discovery and clinical application.

How to reach the venue

 

Located amid scenic hills overlooking the Zuari River, BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus spans 180 acres. Please note, the campus lies along a bypass road off NH17B, so regular city buses do not service this route—avoid local buses.

 

By Air

Goa has two airports:

  • Goa International Airport (Dabolim) — 5 km from campus, well-connected to major Indian cities with frequent flights from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and others.
  • Manohar International Airport (Mopa) — about 55 km away.

Pre-paid taxis are available at both airports:

  • Dabolim to campus ~ ₹500 (~$6)
  • Mopa to campus ~ ₹4,000 (~$50)

The government-approved Goa Miles cab service: goamiles.com. may be used.  Prices may vary; pre-paid taxis are recommended.

 

By Train

Nearest railway stations:

  • Karmali (~20 km)
  • Madgaon (~22 km)
  • Vasco (~10 km)

Approximate taxi fares from stations to campus:

  • Karmali: ₹2,000 (~$25)
  • Madgaon: ₹2,500 (~$30)

 

By Road

The campus is accessible via well-maintained highways connecting Goa to major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad. Private vehicles or taxis are the best options for reaching the venue.
