About the Faculty

Dr. Pushp Lata has been associated with Languages Department, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani since 1994. She did her P.G.D.T.E. from CIEFL, Hyderabad and Ph.D. from University of Rajasthan.
She did her Ph. D. on A Critical Evaluation of English Language Teaching Materials Provided to the First Year Degree Students: A Case Study of Kota Open University awarded in 1992.
Her areas of interest include Public Speaking, Soft Skills, Technical communication, Linguistics, Business communication and English Language Teaching. At BITS she is the nucleus member of Public and Media Relations Unit. In fact she introduced a course entitled Effective Public Speaking in the year 2001-2002, which is very popular among students. Dr. Pushp Lata has handled various responsibilities like member of ACB board, DAC member, coordinating faculty for Intensive Teaching Workshop, member of the Library Committee, Non-Resident Warden etc. She has guided several study oriented project students in the areas of conflict management, personality development, body language, critical thinking and public speaking. She was the coordinator for Spoken English course and now she is the coordinator for Communicative English Course. She is also a resource person for TOEFL and GRE courses which are offered by Languages Group, BITS, Pilani. She has delivered talks and lectures at several workshops on Effective Communication and Managerial Communication. She has got various articles published in various anthologies and attended various conferences and workshops. Besides that she has several poems and short stories published in different magazines and journals. She has Published four books with well known publishers like Oxford University Press and Prentice Hall of India.
