Overview

Department of Languages was established in the year 1960. The Department has grown over the years as one of the important Departments in the institute with qualified and experienced faculty having extensive research and academic experience. The Department caters to the academic requirements of the communication curriculum.

Research

The Department of Languages undertakes research in varied areas such as technical communication, English Language Teaching, fiction, feminism, film studies, computer-mediated communication, multimedia content, advertising etc. The faculty of the department have published papers in international journals of repute and have presented papers at conferences The faculty has undertaken research project sponsored by UGC.

Courses

The department offers courses such as Technical Communication, Business Communication, Technical Report Writing, Print and Audio Visual Advertising, Linguistics, Language Skill-I, Language Skills-II, Effective Public Speaking, Managerial Communication, Communication in Healthcare, GRE Preparation Course, Creative Writing, Current Affairs, Introduction to Mass Communication, Mass Media Content and Design, Reporting and Writing for Media, Short Film and Video Production.
