Overview

The Department over a period has acquired well-spaced modern laboratory facilities including gas, air and vacuum lines. There are a number of laboratory equipments in each of these laboratories such as rotary evaporators, spectrometers, digital melting point apparatus, cryogenic apparatus etc. The major equipments such as FTIR, NMR, Atomic Absorption spectrometer, Flourimeters, Chromatographic equipments, Polarimeters, Centrifuges, Electrochemistry equipments etc. are available in the Central Analytical Laboratory.

The Department also has a good computational laboratory with a Sun Fire server with four six-core intel processors and 32 GB RAM and quantum chemistry packages: Q-Chem, Gamess, Gaussian, etc.

The BITS library provides access to many renouned national and international journals related to Chemistry and other disciplines.
