Schemcon stands for Students chemcon. It is an annual organized by the students chapter of indian institute of chemical engineers. A students chemcon (schemcon) acts as a source of encouragement and self-confidence for young minds, which are considered as the most fertile ground for generation of original and creative ideas. The first ever students chemcon was organised during 7 to 9 December 2005 at IIT Guwahati jointly by the student chapters at IIT Guwahati and assam engg. college, both newly formed. the response received from the student of chemical engineering in general to participate in this programme had been Phenomenal.
