To develop a complete decision support system for water resources planning, implementation and evaluation (PIE model) by implementing useful rain water harvesting techniques and by exploring the feasibility of different irrigation methods.
Intelligent Irrigation systems
To develop an ICT(information & Communication Technology) enabled irrigation control system to create irrigation schedules based on collection, compilation and interpretation of data obtained from local weather stations, from a network of sensors about soil type and condition, atmospheric condition, thereby enabling optimum use of water and fertilizer for efficient maintenance of soil fertility
To develop technologies for using renewable sources of energies like solar, wind, geo-thermal etc. for irrigation and human habitat.
To identify and standardize the protocols for raising the medicinal and commercially important desert crops in vitro and to standardize the methods for maintenance, mass multiplication, and hardening and field testing of tissue culture raised plantlets.
To implement technology for efficient water management by creating awareness and through participative management, bringing about holistic community development reflecting in all sections of society with special emphasis on social, economic, health improvement and women empowerment.
