Introduction

The department was established in 1944 as a part of the then existing Birla Science College, which was incorporated in the Institute in 1964.The department offers opportunities for the education and research in a wide spectrum of areas in Mathematics such as: Algebra and Analysis, Differential Equations and their applications, Discrete Mathematics and applications, Statistics and Operations Research, Mathematical Modeling etc.

Call for Ph.D. Applications

Applications are invited for admission to Ph. D. programme in Mathematics. The candidates having M. Sc. or M. Phil in Mathematics can apply on or before 5.00 PM on 10-12-2012. The written test could be waived for those candidates who have cleared NET examination or have received M. Phil. degree in Mathematics.
