The department is engaged in fundamental as well as applied research. The department has excellent computational and experimental facilities, for both teaching and research.
BITS’ Department of Chemical Engineering boasts a diverse set of research areas, which have wide-ranging applications in industry, potential solutions to energy problems, and the development of sustainable technologies, to name a few.
Our research is frequently interdisciplinary, connecting across departments including Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Environmental Engineering, and Applied and Computational Mathematics. The thrust areas of research include: process systems engineering, energy integration, catalysis and reactor design, separation processes, water treatment and remediation technologies, adsorption, nanofluidics, and artificial neural networks.
