  • Best poster award - Prof. R. Mahesh

    Prof. R. Mahesh received the Best poster award at Indian Pharmacology Society Conference – National Institute of Nutrition(ICMR), Hyderabad, November 2010.

  • Smarter Planet Innovation Award 2010 - Prof. Navneet Goyal, Dr. Poonam Goyal

    Prof. Navneet Goyal, Dr. Poonam Goyal, and Dr. Anil Rai have been awarded the IBM Scalable Data Analytics for a Smarter Planet Innovation Award 2010 carrying $15000 cash prize for their project proposal titled Developing a Smart Crop Management System Using Data Analytics. The winners will also get a chance to present their work in an IBM hosted workshop in November 2011. The award was given by IBM, USA

  • Best Poster award-Prof. Anshuman Dalvi

    Prof. Anshuman Dalvi won the Best Poster award in 55th DAE Solid State Physics Symposium 2010 held at Manipal University, Manipal during 26-30 December 2010.

  • Distinguished Service Award-Ms Ruchika Sharma

    Ms Ruchika Sharma received the Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to AIMS International Journal. The award was given by ' The Association of Indian Management Scholars International (AIMS International) ' in the award ceremony held at IIM Bangalore Auditorium on 21 December 2009 during "Seventh AIMS International Conference on Management" (20-23 Dec).

  • 10th place in the All India contest for designing all terrain vehicle held at Indore

    A student team of BITS Pilani with Gaurav Baheti (2007A4PS269) as Team Leader and Mr. Anirudh Singh as a driver of the vehicle secured 10th place in the All India contest for designing all terrain vehicle held at Indore on 29-31 January 2010. Comprised of 80 teams from across India, the contest was organized by Society of Automobile Engineers, India Chapter (SAE India). While SAE provided a standard engine to all the teams, the designing and fabrication was done by the BITS team members.

  • BITS Basketball Team won a gold

    BI TS Basketball Team (both men and women) won a gold in the sports tournament held at MNIT, Jaipur during 18-21 February, 2010.

  • Humanoids AcYut 2 and AcYut 3 developed by students of BITS Pilani, won four medals

    Humanoids AcYut 2 and AcYut 3 developed by students of BITS Pilani, won four medals in Robogames held at San Mateo Fairgrounds, California, US during 23-25 April 2010. While AcYut 2 won one Gold Medal under the Sumo category, AcYut 3 won one Silver Medal under the Freestyle and one Silver Medal under the Sumo category and AcYut 3 won one Bronze Medal under the category, Kung Fu. Overall BITS team secured the 6 place in the medal count. Four members of  AcYut's team who participated in this years Robogames were: Ms. Sushma Vallabhaneni (2007A7PS063) (Team Leader), Mr Akash Gupta (2008A4PS305), Mr Tushar Agrawal (2009A7PS161), Ankit Kulshrestha (2008A3PS163), Rohan Maheshwari (2008A4PS299) and Mr Viveka Notani (2009C6PS697).

  • Four first year students of BITS Pilani, have been selected for the prestigious Aditya Birla Group Scholarships of 2010.

    Four first year students of BITS Pilani, namely, Miss Ankita Sarda and Mr Shuja Shabir (BE - Computer Science) and Mr Vaibhav Grewal and Mr Prakash Singh (BE- Electrical and Electronics Engineering) have been selected for the prestigious Aditya Birla Group Scholarships of 2010. These four BITSians are among the 23 bright students chosen for this year's award. Aditya Birla Scholarships which are offered to meritorious students of IITs, IIMs and BITS Pilani every year.

  • Humanoid AcYut 4 designed by BITS Pilani students creates a world record

    Humanoid AcYut 4 designed by BITS Pilani students performed a feat of lifting a weight of 40CD's together, which is the first time in the world, thus creating a world record. AcYut achieved this feat to the delight of a large number of students and scientists at the 15th F IRA Robot World Cup and Congress held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore, during 15-19 September 2010. AcYut was given the special award by the FIRA World Cup for setting the world record in weight lifting in the large sized category. The event was organized by Federation of International Robot Soccer Association (FIRA).

  • Raghav Mimani student of BITS Pilani was awarded Green Globe Foundation Award for 2010

    Raghav Mimani (2007A1PS383), 3rd year BE Chemical Engineering student of BITS Pilani was awarded Green Globe Foundation Award for 2010 under the category, "Yputh Unite for Voluntary Action" (YUVA). The award have been instituted as a salutation to the efforts of organizations and individuals fighting climate change with their work in environment preservation and regeneration. The award was presented at an event held at Hotel Taj Palace, Delhi by Prime Minister of Bhutan, HE Mr Jigmi Yoser Thinley on 5 February, 2010 on the occasion of Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (5-7 February) organized by TERI.

  • Poster Presentation Competition - Sonal Keshawrao Thengane

    Sonal Keshawrao Thengane (2009H101016) won the First Prize (Cash Rs.4000 and Excellence Certificate) in Poster Presentation Competition on LCA Analysis and 3rd prize (Cash Rs.2000) in Quiz in AZEOTROPY-2010 organized by IIT BOMBAY during 6-7 March, 2010.
